Coppice Knob Walking Sticks are all individually wrought from a variety of different types of wood. The wood for these sticks is produced by the age-old practice of coppicing. This involves the repeated cutting down of new shoots of a tree near ground level, allowing a greater number of new shoots to take hold and grow. After several years, these juvenile branches are cut in order to give both the long shaft and the thicker knob section of the handle. Careful trimming of the handle and smoothing creates the finished beautiful natural product that you see below.
